genesis x2 PANELS

We've been trying to expand Genesis a little more each year, and this year we're trying out some exciting Panels for everyone to enjoy! No sign ups required, just come by at the scheduled times, and grab a seat! First come, first serve seating!

Panels will take place inside the Convention Hall venue, in the Concourse immediately in front of Hall 2, and in front of the Main entrance upstairs. Directions below

FRIDAY, FEB. 14th

RIICHI! A "How to" on Mahjong

In this panel, we will learn how to play Mahjong, particularly Riichi Mahjong also known as Japanese Mahjong. We will discuss how to build a winning hand, how to assemble Yaku for offense, how to read opponents’ discards for defense, how to count score, and how to show proper etiquette both online and in-person.

A scientific examination of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate physiology and performance

We all have a brain and two hands, so why are some players just so much better? If you're interested, Dr. Steven Machek from Cal State Monterey Bay will be leading a panel discussion on some of his team's recent data collected from top players at Throne II this last November. He'll also be discussing the research he's collecting at Genesis X2 all weekend ON-SITE to look at what cognitive, dexterity, and cardiovascular differences might predict Smash Ultimate performance.
